Two advisors. One genuine mission.
We started Hybrid Advisory because we both believe the same thing — that small business owners deserve the same quality of support, thinking, and accountability that big businesses take for granted. And we genuinely love watching people and their businesses grow.
Mark built two retail stores from the ground up and ran them for over 20 years — managing everything from stock and suppliers to staff, margins, customers and cash flow. He knows the difference between a business that looks healthy on paper and one that actually is.
He has lived the seasonal pressure, the supplier negotiations, the staff challenges, and the moments where the numbers just don't add up. He has run the shop floor and closed the books — often on the same day.
Beyond retail, Mark is a qualified accountant with CFO experience across large private and public sector organisations in New Zealand and Australia. He brings the financial rigour and strategic discipline that most SME owners have never had direct access to — someone who reads your numbers as a map, not just a record.
Today Mark and Paul run a business venture together — still active — which means the experience he brings is current, not historical.
Paul has spent 25+ years inside businesses of every shape and size — running them, fixing them, growing them and building them from scratch. His background spans hospitality, health and aged care, mining and resources, facilities management and retail — across New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and India.
He has negotiated large complex contracts, managed food and beverage operations, overseen property acquisitions, and led organisations through restructures, mergers and major change. He has worked at every level — from the shop floor to the boardroom — across more industries than most people work in a lifetime.
He has also been an owner. He built and sold a restaurant and a music store — both profitably. He knows what it feels like to carry a business on your own, make decisions with no one to test them with, and wear every hat at once.
